Nestling in an idyllic lakeside setting in Sheffield, owners of a beautifully restored Old Watermill chose Deckbuilders to transform their outdoor space into a striking yet functional extension of their home. A key requirement was to seamlessly link the first floor living area to an outdoor entertaining area at the side of the lake and this was achieved with bridging walk ways, steps and a wraparound deck.
Design considerations: Once the 3D drawings had been approved by the customer and passed planning and environmental approval, full structural drawings were produced detailing the under structure elements to support the first floor deck. 10mm toughened glass panels within the handrails make the most of the views giving clean lines that add to the contemporary feel.
