American Softwoods is a promotional partnership formed by  three major US softwood trade associations: the Southern Forest Products Association, the Softwood Export Council and the APA, the Engineered Wood Association.

Southern Yellow Pine

America is recognised for its high quality, sustainable softwoods. Southern yellow pine is a premium product for external use and is ideal for decking. It combines characterful looks with strength, good impact and wear resistance and the highest nail-holding ability.

A key feature of the species is it's ability to accept treatment with wood preservative in a pressure treatment process where it achieves high penetration levels giving through and through protection.
